PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Quinn Ravage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Branden Wooster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Branden Wooster was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Quinn Ravage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Branden Wooster!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ravage does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Wooster tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Ravage tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Wooster checks a low kick from Ravage.
Wooster changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Wooster darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ravage is looking for a sweep. Wooster is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ravage is staying active underneath Wooster, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wooster works his way into side control.
Wooster wants to control but Ravage is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooster tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wooster wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ravage keeps working.
Wooster tries to advance to mount but can't.

Wooster is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ravage is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Wooster wants to control but Ravage is keeping him busy.
Ravage knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wooster on the ground.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Wooster is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ravage has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ravage gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Ravage on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ravage tries to get out of the position.
Wooster is just content to waste time from the top position. Ravage takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Wooster trying to control the position from guard on top but Ravage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ravage is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Wooster stands and throws Ravage's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Wooster tries for a kimura but Ravage is defending well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ravage is looking to reverse the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Branden Wooster dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Wooster shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ravage as he avoids it easily.
Ravage wants to slow Wooster down by chopping away at his legs.
Ravage is looking to chop away at Wooster's legs.
Wooster takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Wooster throws a series of punches but Ravage avoids them all with ease.
Ravage fires out a quick counter leg kick but Wooster just manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wooster fails with a takedown attempt.
Ravage half committed to a counter leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wooster dives in and grabs Ravage's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ravage pushes down on Wooster's head and hops out.
Ravage tried to counter with a leg kick but Wooster avoided it.
Quinn Ravage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Branden Wooster.
A clash of legs there as Wooster blocks the low kick.
Ravage stuffs the takedown.
Ravage fires out a quick counter leg kick but Wooster just manages to avoid it.
Quinn Ravage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ravage attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Wooster shoots in looking for a takedown. Ravage tries to sprawl out of it but Wooster keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ravage manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ravage misses with a body kick.
Wooster is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Ravage is looking to chop away at Wooster's legs.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ravage lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Wooster has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Wooster and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

A low kick from Ravage is predictable there

so Wooster counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wooster postures up in Ravage's guard and throws a big left but Ravage blocks it.
Wooster wants to pass the guard but Ravage is keeping the position.
Wooster has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Wooster wants to control from the top but Ravage keeps moving.
Wooster looking to pass the guard.
Wooster passes Ravage's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Wooster wants to control but Ravage is keeping him busy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Wooster seems to be looking for submissions.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Branden Wooster will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Quinn Ravage has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wooster stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ravage swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Branden Wooster is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
Quinn Ravage showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Wooster has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
