Washington closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Ovechkin stalks Washington and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Washington's face. Washington staggers backwards, shaken.
Washington throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ovechkin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Washington swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ovechkin.
Washington lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ovechkin backs up against the cage.
Ovechkin throws the left hand but Washington avoids the punch easily.

Ovechkin bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Washington's head.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Washington escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Washington wants to clinch up but Ovechkin keeps it at a distance.

Ovechkin feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Washington sprawling to the canvas! Washington rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ovechkin finish him?!
