Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ward Jensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Case (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ward Jensen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Case!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Anthony Taglia and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jensen tries to keep at a distance but Case has taken the fight into the clinch.

Case manages to break the clinch.

Jensen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Case to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Jensen is adopting a defensive guard.
Case wants to get up but he can't break Jensen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jensen keeping moving, preventing Case from controlling successfully.
Jensen is pulling down on Case's head to control his posture.

Case looking to pass the guard.
Jensen pulls Case in close to prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Case fails with an attempt to clinch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Case. Jensen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Case fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jensen feinted with a counter takedown.
Case throws a series of punches but Jensen moves out of range.

Case drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Case wants to take a breather but Jensen manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Case.
Case must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Case trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jensen's guard.

Jensen pulls Case in close to prevent any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Case lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jensen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jensen is defended easily by Case.

Case stands and throws Jensen's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Case decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jensen to his feet.

Jensen tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Case tries to advance to mount but Jensen denies him.
Case wants to stand but Jensen is controlling his arm.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Case wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jensen keeps working.
Case has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Case tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Jensen.

Case thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jensen's head.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Case will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jensen blocks a head kick by Case.
Jensen tries to counter by clinching up but Case breaks away and moves out of range.

Case is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jensen's half guard.

Case wants to advance to full mount but Jensen doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Case wants to pass the guard but Jensen is keeping the position.

Jensen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Ward Jensen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Case decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Case throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Jensen is not content to let Case control the position.
Case wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Jensen uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Jensen is trying to keep Case in close.

Case has gone for a leg lock! Jensen slips out almost immediately though and dives into Case's guard.

Justin Case showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Jensen seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Case looking to score a takedown here. Jensen is defending well but Case drives through and ends up in Jensen's guard.
Jensen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Case stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jensen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jensen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jensen wants to stand up but Case has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Case shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jensen napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Case throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Jensen works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Case is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jensen is controlling Case's trapped leg to prevent Case from advancing to side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Case looking for a submission but Jensen manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Case looking to sit in guard and control but Jensen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Jensen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jensen shoots in for a takedown but Case shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jensen enables Case to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jensen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ward Jensen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Justin Case is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Case has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jensen is proving hard to escape from.

And that's the end of the fight!
Justin Case comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Case has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
