Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dusty Villarreal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borys Maniek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Borys Maniek will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dusty Villarreal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Borys Maniek!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maniek bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Maniek tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Maniek has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Maniek is trying to get an arm triangle but Villarreal is defending well.

Villarreal is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Maniek has just dragged him back down to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Villarreal manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Villarreal might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Villarreal pushes Maniek off looking to stand but Maniek dives back in and keeps control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Maniek closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Maniek lands in his opponent's guard.
Maniek won't allow Villarreal to get back to his feet.
Maniek is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Villarreal throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Maniek manages to pass to side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Maniek wants to lay and pray for a moment but Villarreal keeps working.
