The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gates fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Macari, pushing him back against the ropes.
Macari tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Gates tries to throw a body punch but Macari avoids it by throwing Gates back against the ropes.

Thiago Macari spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
