Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mark Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Duphus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rick Duphus has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Jack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick Duphus!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jack throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Duphus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jack swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Duphus closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Duphus wants to stand but Jack is controlling his arm.
Jack is looking to reverse the position.
Duphus working the ground and pound.
Jack is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Duphus's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Jack wants to improve his position but Duphus is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Duphus is pressing down on Jack's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jack is holding on for now.

Jack is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Duphus pulls his head out easily.

Jack gets full guard.
Jack manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Duphus manages to get himself to full guard.

Jack wants to stand but Duphus has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Duphus had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jack defends it easily.

Jack would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Jack fails with an attempt to clinch.
Duphus swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Jack misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Duphus now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Duphus shoots in but no luck this time.
Jack is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Jack has Duphus up against the cage in a clinch.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Duphus has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Jack could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Duphus is working for takedown but Jack is calmly controlling the position for now.

Duphus wants to break free but Jack has control.
Jack is trying to break the clinch but Duphus has him pressed against the cage.

Jack pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jack shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Duphus throws a front kick aimed at Jack's knee but Jack avoids it well.
Duphus shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jack but Jack pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mark Jack has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Duphus.

Jack looking to score a takedown here. Duphus is defending well but Jack drives through and ends up in Duphus's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jack is breathing heavily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close round but I would say that Mark Jack will probably get the nod.

Jack throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Duphus works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Duphus is looking to stand up but Jack isn't so interested in that idea.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Duphus bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jack's guard.

Jack tries to land a sweep but no joy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Duphus prevents Jack from getting back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Jack clinches up with Duphus and pushes him back against the cage.

Duphus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jack tries to close the distance and clinch but Duphus swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Duphus shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jack shoots in for a takedown but Duphus shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Jack. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Duphus digs a good body shot into Jack's ribs.
Jack dives in for a single leg takedown but Duphus sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Jack decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Jack throws a quick inside leg kick.
Jack defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Duphus.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jack shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Duphus napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jack shoots in for a takedown but Duphus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jack changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Duphus tries to avoid it but Jack manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Duphus to the ground. Duphus escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Despite the aggression on Duphus's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Duphus tries to clinch but Jack moves out of range.
Rick Duphus seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Jack shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Duphus as he jumps to the side.
Jack dives in for a single leg takedown but Duphus sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Duphus looks for the body kick but Jack saw that one coming.
Jack tries to clinch up but Duphus circles away and keeps his distance.
Duphus tries a head kick but it misses.

Jack closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Duphus's guard.
Jack looking to sit in guard and control but Duphus gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jack bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Duphus's guard.

Jack trying to control the position from guard on top but Duphus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jack wants to get up but he can't break Duphus's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Jack wants to control from the top but Duphus keeps moving.
Duphus not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Mark Jack is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Duphus throws a head kick but Jack moves out of range.

Rick Duphus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jack has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
