Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Cherry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Norton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Cherry.

Cherry decides to stand back up.
Cherry needs to keep his hands up - Norton had a free shot at his head there.
Norton scores with the left hand. Cherry knows he should have avoided that one.

Alexander Norton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Norton jabs Cherry right on the nose. Cherry blinks but takes it well.
Norton uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cherry has time to react.

Norton has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Norton thuds his right hand into Cherry's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
A decent looking cross lands there for Norton.

Norton tests Cherry's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Norton fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Norton lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Cherry takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Cherry walks into a stiff left hand from Norton.
Cherry has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Norton finds it's way round the side to connect with Cherry's head.

Cherry tries to move into range but Norton moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Norton connects with a good right hand that stumbles Cherry. Cherry circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Norton might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Norton throws out a powerful jab.
A jab from Norton finds it's way through Cherry's defenses.

Norton fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cherry on the side of the head.

Norton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cherry gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Cherry looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Norton connects with the punch.
Cherry takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Cherry gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Cherry needs to keep his hands up - Norton had a free shot at his head there.

Cherry darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Cherry is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Cherry is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Cherry seems to be working for a kimura but Norton defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
