Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tiago Nero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pietr Kandinsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Tiago Nero has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pietr Kandinsky!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Nero. Those never looked like landing.
Nero definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Nero takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kandinsky moves in looking to clinch but Nero pushes him off.
Nero throws a chopping leg kick but Kandinsky manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Nero manages to get back to half guard.
Nero is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Nero shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kandinsky pinned against the cage. Kandinsky gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

A decent looking cross lands there for Kandinsky.

Kandinsky will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nero keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Nero shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kandinsky eats them both and turns towards Nero to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kandinsky tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nero paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Nero counters with a series of strikes. Kandinsky will be more careful next time no doubt.

Kandinsky looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Kandinsky wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kandinsky is trying to drag Nero to the mat but Nero just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

A close second round but Pietr Kandinsky will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Nero went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Kandinsky is trying to push Nero away but Nero has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Kandinsky escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nero fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nero wants to slow Kandinsky down by chopping away at his legs.
Nero throws a series of punches but Kandinsky moves out of range.
Nero steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kandinsky.
A telegraphed right hand from Nero misses the target.

Kandinsky closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kandinsky is looking to take a break and control but Nero is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Tiago Nero has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Nero has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kandinsky is working away from the top position though.
Kandinsky wants to pass to mount but Nero is defending the position.
Kandinsky seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Nero shoots in and drives through. Kandinsky sprawls well.

Well Kandinsky has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
