The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aberdeen shoots for a takedown but Godino saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Godino half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Godino stuffs the takedown attempt from Aberdeen. Aberdeen gets slowly back to his feet.
A quick step to the side and Godino tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Santos Godino has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brendon Aberdeen.
Godino stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Godino wants it to stay on the feet.
Godino wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Godino tries to counter by clinching up but Aberdeen breaks away and moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Aberdeen is stalling here. Godino is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Aberdeen seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Godino has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

We've been hearing that Godino has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
