Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Conor Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Preuss Skura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Conor Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Preuss Skura!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Both fighters circling a little - Harris finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Skura rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Harris moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Harris cracks a nice hook into Skura's ribs.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Skura has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Skura is looking to break free of the clinch but Harris has double underhooks.

Harris is trying to drag Skura to the mat but Skura just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Harris is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Skura can do to turn this around?

Skura on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Harris jumps guard and drags Skura to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Harris has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Harris's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Harris has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Skura got a little sloppy there for a moment and Harris has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Skura has managed to get both his arms back between Harris's legs - danger averted.
Harris seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Harris will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Harris and Skura are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Harris throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Skura into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Harris knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
