Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Emunn Samvesu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Scalante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scalante has chosen Started from the bottom as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samvesu darts in looking for a takedown but Scalante gets double underhooks and turns Samvesu into the cage.
Samvesu has been working on his balance at The Cave Fighting Team, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Scalante.
Scalante throws a combination that misses

and Samvesu counters with a single leg into guard. Scalante didn't expect that.
Samvesu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Scalante swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The referee asks Scalante politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Scalante prefers to stall for the moment though.

I really don't envy Samvesu right now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scalante biding his time, looking for the opening.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Scalante lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Scalante.

Samvesu shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Samvesu showed some decent athleticism there.
Samvesu wants to free his trapped foot but Scalante is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Rocky Scalante seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scalante lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Samvesu circles away quickly and effectively.
It looked like Samvesu was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Scalante misses with a two punch combination.
As Scalante tries to get set, Samvesu tries to push him back and clinch up but Scalante manages to avoid the attempt.
Scalante dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Scalante drops Samvesu with a beautiful combination! Samvesu stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Scalante is looking for the KO!

It looks like Emunn Samvesu has been cut.

Scalante drops Samvesu with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Samvesu! Scalante dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
