Yano is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Fleur de Lis - Jucifer. Kanga Roos could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Koji Yano's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Koji Yano!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roos tries to clinch but Yano moves out of range.
Roos connects with a right hand. Yano shakes it off.


It looks like Koji Yano has been cut.
Roos takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Kanga Roos has been cut.
Yano throws a leg kick which misses Roos's front leg but catches the back leg as Roos tries to avoid it.
Roos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kanga Roos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yano throws a nice looking combination but Roos bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Yano takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Roos's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Yano connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Roos scrambles back to his feet.
Roos tries to clinch up.
Roos misses with a series of wild punches.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sloppy strikes from Roos. Those never looked like landing.
Yano tries to bum rush Roos with a series of wild strikes but Roos uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Yano connects with a nice looking jab.
Roos tries to clinch there but Yano circles away.
Roos throws a leg kick that misses.
No joy there for Roos, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Roos connects with the punch.
Roos looks to clinch
and Roos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Roos throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Yano counters with a nice leg kick.
Yano dodges the punch combination from Roos.
Roos goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Yano ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Roos dives in and scores a takedown into Yano's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Roos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Roos postures up.
Roos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yano managing to control the position.
Roos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yano trying to keep a closed guard but Roos is proving a slippery customer.
Yano is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Yano keeps Roos at a distance using the push kick.
Yano has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Horrible takedown attempt by Roos or perhaps it was just good defense by Yano, which made it look bad.
Yano is looking for the big counter here.
Yano stuffs the takedown attempt from Roos. Roos gets slowly back to his feet.
Yano showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Roos.
Yano scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yano tests Roos's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Roos bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Yano's head backwards.
A good leg kick by Yano.
Roos misses with a combination

and Yano counters with a crisp right hand that drops Roos! Yano lets Roos back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


Roos is rocked!


Kanga Roos's cut is getting worse.
Roos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Oh Roos is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Yano fakes the body blow, causing Roos to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Roos goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

A very excited looking Koji Yano made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
