Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Cunning (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Colon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Cunning!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Colon!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Colon fails to land the takedown.
Cunning stuffs the takedown attempt from Colon. Colon gets slowly back to his feet.

Cunning has closed the distance and engaged Colon in a clinch.
Cunning is pressed up against the cage. Colon has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cunning down to the mat. Cunning avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kevin Cunning has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Colon.
Cunning misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Cunning rushes Colon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cunning lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Cunning lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Colon backwards.
Colon tries to score a body lock takedown but Cunning shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Colon fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Colon is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Cunning turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Cunning tries to move into full mount but can't pass Colon's legs.
Colon manages to work his way to half guard, despite Cunning's best efforts.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cunning is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Cunning's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Cunning knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Colon on the ground.

Cunning looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Cunning throws out a loose jab but Colon uses good head movement to avoid it.

Colon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cunning swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cunning bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Colon's guard.
Cunning has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Colon bucks up and tries to throw Cunning off but instead Cunning has got his back!
Cunning is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Cunning is trying to stick to Colon's back but Colon is turning into Cunning. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Cunning's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Colon.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cunning looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Cunning has control of Colon's left arm, preventing Colon from doing any damage.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Colon has a takedown stuffed.

Cunning fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Colon, pushing him back against the cage.
Colon wants a takedown.

Colon gets to his feet - Cunning follows without any prompting.

Cunning instigates a clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Cunning just misses with a elbow thrown towards Colon's brow.

Cunning gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Cunning prevents Colon from standing back up.
Cunning is looking to take a break and control but Colon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Colon wants to improve his position but Cunning is controlling well.
Cunning content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Cunning is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Colon sees it coming and defends easily.

Colon is looking for a triangle here but Cunning uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
