Shebanov has chosen Don't worry, be happy as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shebanov jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Shebanov throws a body punch but Gage moves out of range.
It looked like Gage wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Decent striking displayed by Gage there.

It looks like Roman Shebanov has been cut.
Gage definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Gage moves to clinch but Shebanov breaks away
letting Shebanov counter with a right hand.
Shebanov misses with a body shot.
Gage tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Shebanov manages to circle out of the way.
Gage throws a half hearted mid kick.

Gage throws a body punch but Shebanov moves out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shebanov lunges at Gage with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gage's hand.
Gage lets loose with a powerful body kick. Shebanov will feel that in the morning.

and Gage moves into the clinch.

Shebanov tries to circle away but Gage has him pinned against the cage.

Gage throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Shebanovs head.

Gage lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Shebanov or not.

Gage creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Shebanov with a big uppercut! Shebanov tries to clinch up but Gage pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Shebanov to the mat! Shebanov covers up and Gage unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Joe Gage decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
