Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stevie McGordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conner Britian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stevie McGordon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Conner Britian!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Britian looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
McGordon misses with a hook.
Britian drops down looking to force a counter takedown but McGordon defends it well.
Nice takedown defense from Britian. No joy for McGordon on that attempt.
It seemed like Britian was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
McGordon definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
McGordon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Britian as he avoids it easily.
Britian tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. McGordon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Conner Britian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGordon throws a nice outside leg kick.
McGordon tries a head kick but it misses.
McGordon fails with a takedown attempt.
Despite the aggression on Britian's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stevie McGordon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Britian misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McGordon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
McGordon controls Britian momentarily but Britian frees himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
McGordon wants to sweep but no luck.
Britian wants to control from the top but McGordon keeps moving.

Britian connects with a couple of short punches.
McGordon wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Britian gets to his feet. McGordon looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
McGordon shoots for a double leg takedown but Britian sprawls well. He's pushed McGordon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Britian throws a counter combo.
Britian stuffs the takedown.
Britian is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Oooooh!!! Britian has knocked McGordon down with a huge combo! Britian steps away and waves a wobbly McGordon back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


McGordon is rocked!
McGordon is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Britian just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! McGordon has gone limp and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Conner Britian!
