The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Schum. Beautiful body shot.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Magomedov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Schum shoots in but Magomedov avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Schum misses with a few strikes there.

Schum shoots in looking for a takedown. Magomedov tries to sprawl out of it but Schum keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Magomedov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Schum shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Magomedov but Magomedov pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Schum seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Vitaly Schum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looked like Schum was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Magomedov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Schum's half guard.

Magomedov has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Schum defend it? Magomedov steps over the head and cranks it - Schum is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Magomedov!
