Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Claus Mueller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grant Fletcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Claus Mueller is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mueller closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Mueller escapes and gets back to his feet.
Mueller wants to clinch up but Fletcher keeps it at a distance.
A punch combination from Mueller misses.
Fletcher shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mueller pinned against the cage. Mueller gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mueller takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Mueller throws a left and a right that both miss
and Fletcher counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mueller keeps the fight on the outside.
Mueller tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fletcher swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Fletcher looks for a takedown but Mueller sprawls well.
Fletcher takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

It looks like Grant Fletcher has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fletcher shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mueller pinned against the cage. Mueller gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Claus Mueller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grant Fletcher.

Fletcher rushes Mueller and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Fletcher is fighting off a takedown attempt but Mueller is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Fletcher to the mat. Fletcher regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Fletcher feints and then cracks Mueller's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mueller down.
Mueller fails to land with a series of punches.

Fletcher closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Fletcher breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Fletcher counters with a head kick. That will keep Mueller thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

A low kick from Mueller is predictable there

so Fletcher counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Mueller has his feet on Fletcher's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Fletcher shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mueller pinned against the cage. Mueller gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jab, jab by Mueller - just one landing.

Mueller has his foot on Fletcher's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fletcher works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

and Fletcher counters with a good low kick that Mueller was not able to check.
Fletcher shoots in for a takedown but Mueller shows good takedown defense.

Mueller throws a right hand that Fletcher ducks under and follows up with a left that Fletcher also avoids with ease.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Claus Mueller will probably get the nod.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mueller decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Fletcher, up you get!
Mueller changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fletcher tries to avoid it but Mueller manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fletcher to the ground. Fletcher escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mueller tries to bum rush Fletcher with a series of wild strikes but Fletcher uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fletcher throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mueller's head.
Mueller throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mueller dips to his left and cracks Fletcher with an uppercut!
