PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fitzgerald Shitehouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Fitzgerald Shitehouse was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shitehouse throws a head kick that misses.
Shitehouse throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sanders stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Shitehouse pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Shitehouse throws a body kick that misses.
Nice straight punches there by Shitehouse. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Shitehouse.
Shitehouse tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Sanders closes the distance and clinches.
Sanders is working for takedown but Shitehouse is calmly controlling the position for now.
Sanders tries to score a body lock takedown but Shitehouse shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanders tries for a takedown but Shitehouse manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Sanders. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sanders breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shitehouse lands with a kick to the temple. Sanders shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Chris Sanders has been cut.

Sanders forces Shitehouse back against the cage and clinches.

Sanders has Shitehouse pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Shitehouse manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Sanders escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sanders throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shitehouse lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Shitehouse misses with a body kick.

Sanders has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sanders wants a takedown.
Shitehouse wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sanders has him pressed against the cage.
Sanders stalling.

Sanders pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Shitehouse misses with a shot to the body
and Sanders counters with a nice body kick.
Sanders tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shitehouse swivels and escapes.

Shitehouse cracks Sanders with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Sanders fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Shitehouse throws a body punch but Sanders moves out of range.

Sanders closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sanders is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee asks Sanders politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Sanders prefers to stall for the moment though.

Sanders decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Shitehouse throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shitehouse looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Sanders closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shitehouse circles away.
Shitehouse connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Shitehouse throws a head kick that misses.
Shitehouse misses with a leg kick.
Shitehouse displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sanders.

Sanders lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shitehouse circles away quickly and effectively.
Shitehouse misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sanders shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shitehouse defends it nicely.

Fitzgerald Shitehouse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shitehouse uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sanders.

Sanders pushes Shitehouse up against the cage in a clinch.
Shitehouse has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Sanders really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sanders drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Shitehouse gets the underhooks and prevents it.
The referee is keeping an eye on Sanders - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Sanders tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Sanders is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Shitehouse frees his head nicely. Oh but Sanders has switched to an armbar! Shitehouse is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
