Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sang Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hulk Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sang Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hulk Kelly!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kelly has time to react.

Burns drives through with a takedown into guard.

Burns stands and steps away. Kelly gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Kelly displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Burns.

Burns shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kelly napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns landing strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burns working the ground and pound but Kelly is defending the strikes.
Burns has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Burns throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Burns fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Kelly tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Burns wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Kelly tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Burns is not going to allow Kelly to sit and survive in this position.

Kelly is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Kelly trying to get back to his feet but Burns is in full control for now.
Kelly trying to control the hands but Burns won't let him.
Burns really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kelly is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Burns gets his way!

Burns patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Burns is not going to allow Kelly to sit and survive in this position.
Burns missing with strikes from the back.
Burns will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kelly is trying to break free.
Kelly trying to control the position but Burns manages to sink in the hooks.

Burns looking for the choke but no joy.
Kelly tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Kelly manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Kelly is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kelly keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Burns takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!


Kelly shoots in and drives through. Burns sprawls well.
Kelly shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Burns sprawls well. Burns wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kelly gets slowly back to his feet.
Burns half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Burns is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kelly can do to turn this around?
Kelly misses with the combination.
Burns was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Kelly gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Burns to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burns decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kelly, up you get!

Kelly gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Burns jumps into guard, dragging Kelly to the mat.
Sang Burns overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Burns has his feet on Kelly's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Kelly shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sang Burns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hulk Kelly.
Kelly throws a front kick that sends Burns stumbling back into the cage.
Kelly fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Burns avoids it really well and circles away.
Kelly is breathing heavily.

Burns is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kelly's half guard.

Kelly wants to get back to his feet.
Kelly wants to improve his position but Burns is controlling well.

Burns stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kelly to get to his feet.
Kelly tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Burns defends well and Kelly ends up having to push Burns into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Burns lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kelly circles away quickly and effectively.
Burns misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kelly.
Nice uppercut lands for Kelly. That snapped Burns's head back.
Burns shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kelly but Kelly pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kelly has taken the fight to the clinch.
Burns lands a nice elbow.
Burns tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kelly avoids it.
The referee calls for Burns to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Burns misses with a body punch.
Burns can't find room to land a body shot as Kelly controls the action.
Burns lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Burns has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kelly uses from the top position.
Kelly trying to control but Burns is working from the bottom.
Burns seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Burns striking off his back but it's not causing Kelly any problems.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sang Burns dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Burns breaks from the clinch.
Kelly fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

and Burns counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Kelly tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Burns avoids it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Burns as Kelly tries to tie him up.
Burns lands a good knee to the midsection. Kelly won't want to take too many of those.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burns lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Kelly goes for a takedown attempt but Burns pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Sang Burns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hulk Kelly.
Burns has Kelly pressed against the cage, preventing Kelly from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Burns misses with a body punch.
Burns gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kelly.
Kelly takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Kelly takes an elbow to the forehead.

Burns ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Burns no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Burns has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kelly off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Burns keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Burns throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kelly's waist but Kelly gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Burns off to one side.
Burns misses the shot to the body.
Burns shoots in but Kelly avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Burns stuffs the takedown.

Kelly let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Kelly wants to improve his position but Burns is controlling well.

Kelly is trying to control Burns's posture but Burns avoids it.
Burns scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kelly to see if he's OK.
Kelly is trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Burns tries for a kimura but Kelly is defending well.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sang Burns showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Burns, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
