PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juan Seffar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tod Daley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seffar comes to the cage accompanied by Suffocate. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Daley.
Daley fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Daley misses with a takedown attempt - Seffar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Juan Seffar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tod Daley.
Daley wants to clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Seffar. No joy for Daley on that attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daley closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Seffar to the mat! Seffar manages to get full guard.
Seffar pulls Daley in close to prevent any damage.

Daley trying to control the position from guard on top but Seffar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Seffar is pulling down on Daley's head to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Daley trying to control but Seffar is working from the bottom.
Seffar is trying to keep Daley in close.
Seffar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Daley's guard.
Daley manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Seffar is trying desperately to improve position.

Seffar bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Seffar in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Seffar wants to pass the guard but Daley is keeping the position.
Daley looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Daley looking to hit a scissor sweep but Seffar is one step ahead there.
Daley is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Daley is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Seffar gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Seffar is keen to just control but Daley is a slippery customer.
It looks like Seffar is going to stand back up.
Seffar trying to control the action but Daley is working from the bottom.

Seffar is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Daley trying to control the position.
Daley pulls Seffar in close to prevent any damage.
Daley keeping moving, preventing Seffar from controlling successfully.
Seffar pushes down on Daley's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Daley wants to improve his position but Seffar is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Seffar looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Daley doesn't manage to clinch there - Seffar circles away.

Seffar feints and as Daley raises his hands in defense, Seffar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Seffar wants to pass the guard but Daley is keeping the position.
Seffar wants to control from the top but Daley keeps moving.
Daley controlling the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Daley can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Daley pushes Seffar off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Daley shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Seffar counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Daley is breathing heavily.
Seffar looking to pass the guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Daley is on top in guard.
Daley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Seffar wants to sweep but no luck.

Seffar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Daley can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Seffar is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Daley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Seffar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Seffar working for submissions but it's allowed Daley to get to half guard.

Daley stands up out of the half guard.
Seffar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Daley pinned against the cage. Daley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Daley shoots in but no luck this time.

Seffar stuffs the takedown.
Juan Seffar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tod Daley.

Daley clinches.
Daley is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Seffar is keeping busy.
Seffar tries to score a body lock takedown but Daley shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Seffar works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Seffar misses with a knee strike.

Seffar is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Daley rolls with it to try and escape but Seffar cranks on the arm and Daley is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
