Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Declan Morris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danilo Veloso!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Veloso tries to sprawl but Morris drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Veloso pushes Morris off but Morris dives into side control.
Veloso tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Morris presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Veloso manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Veloso is looking for a sweep. Morris is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Morris seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Veloso is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Veloso is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Morris pulls his head out easily.

Veloso looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Morris pushes past his half guard into mount!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Morris is nestled in close to Veloso, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Morris passes the guard and advances to mount!
We've been informed that Veloso has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Veloso is trying to reverse the position but instead Morris has taken his back - oops!

Morris drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Veloso has momentary wrist control but Morris slips an elbow through the middle.
Morris stays in close to Veloso's body and controls the position.

Veloso escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Morris gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Morris prevents Veloso from improving his position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Morris takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Veloso misses with a two punch combination.

Veloso takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A lull in the action here as Morris stalls from top position.
Morris gets to mount! Veloso was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Danilo Veloso has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Morris with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Veloso wants to control but Morris is having none of it.
Veloso is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Morris, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
