The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ekmekci misses with a combination

and Walter counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Walter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Walter is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Walter landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Ekmekci tries to roll over but Walter keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ekmekci is trying to stand.
Walter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Walter is trying to work for a kimura but Ekmekci is defending well.
Ekmekci wants to sweep but Walter has passed to side control!

Ekmekci is looking to regain half guard here but Walter keeps moving and retains side control.
Walter is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ekmekci is looking to reverse the position.

Ekmekci tries to improve his position but Walter has taken his back! Walter has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Ekmekci tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Walter pushes Ekmekci away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
