Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Billy Barry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smooth takes the fight into the clinch.
Smooth is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Barry can't fight it off and eventually Smooth manages to take the fight to the floor. Barry looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Smooth content to stall in guard here.
Smooth keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Barry's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smooth wants to pass the guard but Barry is keeping the position.

Barry thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Barry drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Smooth manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Barry has Smooth in his guard.

Barry drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Barry jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Smooth closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smooth lands in his opponent's guard.
Smooth stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barry swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Barry gets caught flat footed, as Smooth shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Barry is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Smooth has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Smooth!

Smooth is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Barry to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Barry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
