Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tom Hebster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Saint Maria!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hebster has Maria up against the ropes in a clinch.
Maria wants a takedown but no success here.
Hebster's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hebster closes the distance and clinches.
Maria is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Hebster lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Maria is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Maria is trying to pull guard but Hebster turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch.
Tom Hebster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saint Maria.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hebster unloads a knee to the mid-section. Maria lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Hebster pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Maria tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Hebster counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Maria falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!
