Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mitch Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lorenzo Fuerte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fuerte looking to score a takedown here. Castro is defending well but Fuerte drives through and ends up in Castro's guard.

Fuerte is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fuerte stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Castro swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fuerte blocks the strikes from Castro.
Fuerte is controlling the pace.
Fuerte tries to pass to full mount but Castro defends it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Fuerte is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Castro defends it well.

Fuerte has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Fuerte seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Castro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Fuerte wants to pass to mount but Castro is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fuerte lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Fuerte looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Castro with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
