Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Madison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Polo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Polo has chosen On The Floor as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madison will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Polo lands with a nice body punch.

Madison on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Madison stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Polo.
Polo closes the distance and clinches.

Madison drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Polo gets the underhooks and prevents it.

You can see the frustration on Madison's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Well, with Polo on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Madison is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Polo told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Madison has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Polo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Polo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Madison has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Polo has managed to get both his arms back between Madison's legs - danger averted.

Madison fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Polo avoids it really well and circles away.

Madison takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Madison drops back, looking for a kneebar! Polo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Polo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Polo!

Polo lands a big elbow.

Polo has hold of Madison's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Madison manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Polo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Polo lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
