Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Akira Ito!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Chris Edwards and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ito throws a push kick but Lord slaps the foot to one side.
Lord works the jab nicely.
Ito tries a head kick but it misses.
Lord defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ito.
Ito shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lord counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ito misses with a hook to the body
and Lord counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Lord fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Ito shoots in for a takedown but Lord shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
John Lord has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akira Ito.
A nice combination there by Lord.
Ito with a poor takedown
and Lord scores with a counter punch that sends Ito to the canvas! Lord smells blood - he's punishing Ito with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Ito has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Lord!
John Lord is the new featherweight champion!
A relieved looking John Lord thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
