The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Charlick clinches up against the cage.
Dertli wants to get back to striking at distance but Charlick won't allow it.
Dertli can't break the clinch.

Charlick has clasped his hands together around Dertli's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Charlick content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

You can see the frustration on Dertli's face as Charlick controls the position.
Charlick misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Dertli takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Charlick is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Dertli will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Dertli tries to improve his position but Charlick has taken his back! Charlick has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Dertli tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Charlick pushes Dertli away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

In his post fight interview, James Charlick started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
