Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Garland Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kamal Mansor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Garland Vaughn has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Garland Vaughn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kamal Mansor!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Columbo Gatti and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mansor gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Vaughn moves into the clinch.
Mansor tries for a takedown but Vaughn manages to get underhooks.
Vaughn trying to control the position but instead, Mansor has worked for underhooks and has pushed Vaughn into the cage.

Mansor is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Vaughn pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Garland Vaughn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kamal Mansor.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vaughn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mansor shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vaughn as he avoids it easily.
Vaughn tries to close the distance and clinch but Mansor swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mansor tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Mansor is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Vaughn has escaped the position, nice work there.

Mansor wants to control but Vaughn is keeping him busy.

Vaughn tries to get back to half guard but can't.
You can see the frustration on Vaughn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The strikes coming from Mansor are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Mansor tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Vaughn is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Mansor is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Vaughn will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Mansor wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vaughn, who protects the arm well.

Mansor swings around for an armbar but Vaughn sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mansor's guard.
Vaughn wants to stand and escape but instead Mansor has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Vaughn is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mansor is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mansor postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Vaughn is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mansor, into his guard.

Vaughn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mansor on the ground.
Vaughn wants to stand and escape but instead Mansor has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Mansor is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mansor trying to control but Vaughn is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kamal Mansor dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Vaughn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mansor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mansor shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vaughn as he avoids it easily.

and Vaughn counters with a three punch combo that has Mansor backing up. Mansor nods at Vaughn to acknowledge the strikes.
Vaughn shoots in but no luck this time.

Mansor closes the distance and clinches.

Vaughn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mansor dives in and grabs Vaughn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vaughn pushes down on Mansor's head and hops out.

Vaughn rushes Mansor and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Vaughn throws an elbow that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vaughn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Mansor moves into the clinch.

Vaughn breaks from the clinch.

Vaughn tries to clinch but Mansor moves out of range.

Mansor decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Vaughn is trying to maintain the position but Mansor is very close to passing his half guard.
Vaughn controlling the position well.
Vaughn wants to get back to his feet.

Mansor is working for a kimura but Vaughn is defending it quite comfortably.
Mansor is taking a breather. Vaughn says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Mansor in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Vaughn tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Mansor!
