Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renzo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mietek Wegorz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mietek Wegorz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Renzo Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mietek Wegorz!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wegorz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gracie is trying to defend but Wegorz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gracie is trying to get back to full guard.
Gracie keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wegorz wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy.
Wegorz keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Gracie is pressing down on Wegorz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Gracie looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wegorz manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wegorz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wegorz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Gracie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Wegorz is retaining full guard.
Gracie definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wegorz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Wegorz wants to stand up but Gracie is controlling him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gracie pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Wegorz lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Gracie tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Wegorz counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Wegorz circles away from the clinch attempt
and Wegorz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Gracie tries to clinch up.
Wegorz appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Renzo Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wegorz slaps away a takedown attempt from Gracie, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wegorz swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gracie shoots for a takedown but Wegorz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Gracie doesn't manage to clinch there - Wegorz circles away.
Gracie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Wegorz lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Gracie pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As Gracie backs off Wegorz throws a huge counter combo but Gracie manages to avoid it all.
Gracie wants to clinch
and Wegorz counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Gracie looks for the body kick but Wegorz saw that one coming.
We've been informed that Wegorz has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Gracie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Wegorz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Gracie throws a sloppy head kick
and Wegorz counters with a left and a right that stings Gracie.
Gracie doesn't manage to clinch there - Wegorz circles away.
Wegorz moves out of range as Gracie throws a body kick.

Wegorz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gracie tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wegorz is in Gracie's guard.
Wegorz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wegorz stays in close to Gracie's body and controls the position.
Wegorz wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.
Gracie has a closed guard, preventing Wegorz from standing up.

Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wegorz lands with an overhand left.
Wegorz is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Gracie tries a head kick but it misses.
Gracie throws a head kick that misses.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt
and Wegorz makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Gracie pivots, looking for a leg kick but Wegorz is out of range and Gracie settles back down.

and Wegorz counters with a three punch combo that has Gracie backing up. Gracie nods at Wegorz to acknowledge the strikes.

and Wegorz counters with a three punch combo that has Gracie backing up. Gracie nods at Wegorz to acknowledge the strikes.

Gracie shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Gracie passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Wegorz!
Wegorz is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Gracie throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Wegorz because Gracie loaded up on that one.
Wegorz avoids a series of strikes thrown by Gracie.
Gracie sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Renzo Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wegorz is bucking up trying to escape but Gracie cracks him with another couple of good strikes.


It looks like Mietek Wegorz has been cut.
Gracie lands a heavy elbow.
Poor strikes thrown by Gracie there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Wegorz tries to lock up and control but Gracie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Gracie throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Wegorz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gracie postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Wegorz in real trouble here! The ref calls for Wegorz to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Renzo Gracie!
Post fight, Renzo Gracie stared into the camera and said 'Thanks too my great skills I'm the greatest of all time in whooping that ass!'.
