PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between SHINYA AOKI (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miyamoto Usagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). AOKI comes to the cage accompanied by Naruto - Blue Bird. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, SHINYA AOKI!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Miyamoto Usagi!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Usagi stuffs the takedown attempt from AOKI. AOKI gets slowly back to his feet.
Usagi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
AOKI fails with a takedown attempt.
Usagi moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Usagi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
AOKI tries for a takedown but Usagi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for SHINYA AOKI. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A big head kick from Usagi and AOKI is sent sprawling to the canvas!

AOKI is rocked!

It looks like SHINYA AOKI has been cut.

AOKI working for submissions but it's allowed Usagi to get to half guard.
Oh AOKI is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
AOKI trying to control from the bottom.
AOKI seems to have got his legs back now.
Usagi is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Usagi stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

A head kick by Usagi - that's a beauty! AOKI is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Usagi can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
