Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Abel Gomez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gabriel Tremblay!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez tries to clinch but Tremblay moves out of range.
Gomez doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Tremblay decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Gomez is refusing to be controlled, as Tremblay sits in half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tremblay is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gomez is just riding it out for now. Tremblay eventually gives up the hold.

Tremblay thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gomez's head.
Gomez on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Gomez wants to sweep but Tremblay has passed to side control!
Gomez is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Tremblay's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Tremblay has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Gomez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tremblay controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tremblay sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gomez's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Gomez looks for a takedown but Tremblay sprawls well.
A little jabbing left from Tremblay on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Tremblay feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Gomez is working to avoid the ground and pound but Tremblay connects with a decent elbow.
Tremblay looks up at the clock and then as Gomez takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Tremblay smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Gomez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gomez is rocked!
Tremblay lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Gomez down.
Oh Gomez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Tremblay cracks Gomez with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Tremblay immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Gomez is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Tremblay!
