PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Enrico Mazzarri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mega Funkyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Funkyama has chosen Bon Jovi: Bad Medicine as his entrance music. Mega Funkyama told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Funkyama tries to clinch up but Mazzarri circles away and keeps his distance.
An attempted straight right counter from Mazzarri misses the target.
Funkyama scores with a leg kick.
Mazzarri shoots in looking for a takedown but Funkyama manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mazzarri's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A telegraphed right hand from Mazzarri misses the target.
Funkyama tries to clinch but Mazzarri moves out of range.
Funkyama connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Mazzarri shoots in looking for a takedown. Funkyama tries to sprawl out of it but Mazzarri keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Funkyama manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Funkyama looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and Mazzarri decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Funkyama's guard.

Funkyama is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Mazzarri has his hands clasped together but Funkyama extends and breaks Mazzarri's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Funkyama.
