Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Isiah Acer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Acer comes to the cage accompanied by Mad at Gravity- Burn. Ryan has chosen Girlfriend as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Acer throws a head kick that Ryan semi-blocks.
Ryan is looking to clinch.
Ryan slips a jab from Acer.
Ryan throws out a counter right but Acer avoids it with no problem.

Ryan gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Acer to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Acer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Acer wants to pass the guard but Ryan is keeping the position.
We've been hearing good reports from Acer's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Ryan has his foot on Acer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Acer works his way back into a safe position though.

Ryan has hold of Acer's hands but Acer slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ryan is defending against the submission attempts here by Acer.
Ryan felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Acer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ryan defends it well.

Ryan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Acer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Acer's back!
Ryan lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
I really don't envy Acer right now.

Ryan has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Acer is in real trouble here. Ryan gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Acer is tapping out! Ryan wins by rear naked choke!
