The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson scores with a kick to the body.
Adams shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Johnson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Adams tries to clinch up
and Johnson counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Adams circles away.
Johnson clinches up with Adams and pushes him back against the cage.
Adams wants to get back to striking at distance but Johnson won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Adams seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Adams is stalling here. Johnson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Adams seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Johnson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Adams keeps working.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round but I would say that John Johnson will probably get the nod.

and Johnson counters with a three punch combo that has Adams backing up. Adams nods at Johnson to acknowledge the strikes.

Johnson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Adams is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Adams and Johnson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
