Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vernon Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Valdez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jesus Valdez told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdez misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Reeves counters by moving into the clinch.
Valdez tries to circle away but Reeves has him pinned against the cage.

Reeves has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Valdez uses from the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reeves seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Reeves breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Valdez lands with a nice body punch.
Reeves fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Valdez avoids it really well and circles away.
Valdez let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Valdez takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Valdez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Reeves shoots in for a takedown but Valdez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Valdez is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Reeves rather than just go for the knockout.

Oh Reeves is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Valdez cracks a nice hook into Reeves's ribs.
Valdez fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Reeves out cold! Brutal finish!
