Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between PePe Hapitchou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hapitchou comes to the cage accompanied by Blackalicious - Sky is falling. Monroe is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Deep Ocean - Island drumming. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, PePe Hapitchou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ricky Monroe!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Monroe shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Monroe showed some decent athleticism there.
Monroe thows a huge punch but Hapitchou dodges it nicely.
Monroe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hapitchou does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Monroe lands a nice short elbow.
Hapitchou is staying active underneath Monroe, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Monroe sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hapitchou defending well though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hapitchou is trying to control but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Monroe is keen to just control but Hapitchou is a slippery customer.
Monroe tries to pass to full mount but Hapitchou defends it.
Hapitchou's coaches at Demon's Progym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monroe is trying to control the action in half guard but Hapitchou is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Monroe throwing shots but Hapitchou is blocking nicely.
Monroe with the ground and pound but Hapitchou uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Monroe wants to control from the top but Hapitchou keeps moving.

Hapitchou is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Monroe is aware though and is defending well.

Monroe with a flurry of punches that miss.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Monroe closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hapitchou quickly recovers to half guard.
Monroe looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Monroe working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Monroe not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Monroe is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Monroe trying to pass the guard but Hapitchou defending well.
Monroe trying to control from Hapitchou's half guard. Hapitchou has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Monroe makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Monroe slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Monroe cracks Hapitchou with a big right hand but Hapitchou just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Hapitchou is trying to control Monroe's posture but Monroe avoids it.

Monroe throwing strikes but Hapitchou manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Monroe wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Hapitchou has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Monroe's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Monroe is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Hapitchou!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). PePe Hapitchou!
During a confident post fight interview, PePe Hapitchou thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
Ricky Monroe spoke after the fight, saying 'Im a way out of my league it seems.. I though that im so good, but guess i was wrong!'.
