And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kelson Kawai!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Bruno Lombardi and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawai catches Melendez with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Melendez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kawai counters with a two punch combo.
Kawai throws a head kick that half lands.
Melendez is rocked!
Melendez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kawai is fending him off so far but Melendez persists. Nope, Kawai circles away and we're back to standing.
Oh Melendez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Melendez goes for a double leg but Kawai avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kawai continues to drive forward.
Melendez seems to have got his legs back now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Melendez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
