PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Logan Bandy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lenn Togi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Logan Bandy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lenn Togi!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bandy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Togi did well to prevent Bandy getting side control.
Togi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bandy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bandy's back!

Bandy staying busy and making it hard for Togi to control.
Bandy rolls, trying to escape but Togi keeps control of the position.
Bandy needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation.
Bandy is trying to get back to his feet but Togi has full control of the position and if anything, Bandy has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Togi might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bandy haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bandy just trying to survive but Togi is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bandy manages to escape to a better position under a series of strikes. Togi is now in side control.
Bandy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bandy tries to improve position but can't.
Bandy sneaks back into half guard.
Togi is pressing down on Bandy's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bandy is holding on for now.

Bandy lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Bandy is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Togi has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Bandy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Togi is looking to stand up but Bandy isn't so interested in that idea.
Togi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bandy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bandy keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Togi's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bandy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Bandy seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Togi for as long as he can get away with.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bandy seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Bandy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Bandy scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Togi misses with a takedown attempt - Bandy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Togi gets caught napping as Bandy dives in and scores a takedown. Togi manages to retain guard.

Bandy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bandy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Bandy wants to get up but he can't break Togi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Bandy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Bandy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bandy tries to stand and escape but Togi is controlling the position.

Bandy is nestled in close to Togi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bandy in particular looking to stall.

Togi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Bandy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Togi wants to control but Bandy is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bandy gets through Togi's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Bandy pulls guard successfully.
Bandy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bandy with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Togi can't handle though.

Logan Bandy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Togi drops back looking for a leg! Bandy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bandy manages to kick Togi off! Togi jumps back into Bandy's guard.

Well Bandy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
