Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Walton Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Przemek Malecki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Walton Nash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Przemek Malecki!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malecki misses with a takedown attempt

and Nash moves into the clinch.

Nash pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Malecki misses with a double jab

so Nash counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Nash wants to control from the top but Malecki keeps moving.
Nash throwing strikes from guard but Malecki blocks nicely.
Malecki is trying to control the position but Nash postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nash is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Nash throws an elbow that misses. Malecki uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nash's guard. Nice move by Malecki!


That's one minute gone in the round.
Malecki trying to control the position from guard on top but Nash is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Nash is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Nash could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Malecki seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Nash wants to stand but Malecki is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Malecki is stalling in the full guard.
Nash has Malecki pulled in close to control his posture.
Nash is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Malecki is controlling him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Malecki has a takedown stuffed.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Malecki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nash moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Malecki.
Walton Nash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Przemek Malecki.

Malecki has closed the distance and engaged Nash in a clinch.

Malecki breaks the clinch.

Malecki gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nash sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Nash won't allow Malecki to get back to his feet.

Nash keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Malecki's head.
Nash might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Malecki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Nash has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Nash throws a strike but Malecki rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Malecki controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Walton Nash dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Malecki throws a body kick that misses.
Nash seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Przemek Malecki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Malecki throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Nash has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
No joy there for Malecki, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A little feinted left hand from Nash on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Malecki misses with a double jab

and Nash counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Malecki is looking to stand up but Nash isn't so interested in that idea.
Malecki keeping moving, preventing Nash from controlling successfully.
Nash working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Nash missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Nash makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Nash lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Nash trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Malecki manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Nash wants to stand but Malecki is controlling the position.
Malecki tries to stand but Nash is controlling from the bottom.

Nash has his foot on Malecki's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Malecki works his way back into a safe position though.
Nash is controlling Malecki's posture.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Nash is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Malecki is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Malecki misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nash defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Malecki.

Nash tries to keep at a distance but Malecki has taken the fight into the clinch.

Malecki breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Malecki fails to land with a series of punches.
Malecki lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Malecki falls off balance throwing a combination

and Nash counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Nash tries to pull guard but Malecki forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Malecki jumps guard but Nash turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Malecki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Malecki throws a sloppy head kick and Nash moves out of range easily.
Nash half committed to a counter leg kick.
Malecki is breathing heavily.
Malecki gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Nash counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nash.
Walton Nash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Przemek Malecki.
Nash scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Malecki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Malecki closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Malecki lands in his opponent's guard.
Walton Nash overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nash escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Malecki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Przemek Malecki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Nash drives through and clinches with Malecki against the cage.
Nash misses with a punch on the inside.
Nash misses with some punches.

Malecki manages to break the clinch.

Malecki gets a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nash looking to throw knees to the head but Malecki is blocking nicely.
Malecki tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Nash.

A frustrated look appears on Malecki's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Malecki manages to break the clinch.
Malecki throws a head kick that misses.

Malecki moves into range and clinches up with Nash.
Nash tries to pull guard but Malecki forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Malecki shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nash pinned against the cage. Nash gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Nash breaks from the clinch.
Malecki moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Malecki!
Nash uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Malecki.

Nash on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Malecki ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Malecki misses with a wild combination.
Malecki has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Nash displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Malecki.
Walton Nash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Przemek Malecki.
Malecki takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A left and a right from Malecki both land. Nice combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A looping hook to the body misses from Malecki. Nash does a little dance to reset his feet.

Malecki darts in and clinches Nash up against the cage.
Nash goes for a takedown attempt but Malecki pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Malecki shoots in looking for a takedown. Nash tries to sprawl out of it but Malecki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nash manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nash tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Malecki manages to circle out of the way.
Malecki lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Nash backs up against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Malecki misses with a few strikes there.

And that's the end of the fight!
Przemek Malecki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Malecki has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
