Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sergei Kotov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Itora Bollockoff!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Dean Styles and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kotov lands a leg kick that knocks Bollockoff off balance momentarily.

Bollockoff decides to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Bollockoff looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bollockoff is wriggling around but Kotov manages to pass to half guard.
Bollockoff punching from the bottom.
Bollockoff wants to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kotov is controlling the pace.

Bollockoff strikes from the bottom but Kotov uses the opportunity to move to side control.

Bollockoff is striking from the bottom but Kotov uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Bollockoff felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Bollockoff is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Kotov jumps into side control!
Kotov takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Bollockoff to pass into mount.
Bollockoff is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
We've been hearing good reports from Kotov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Bollockoff postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kotov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bollockoff is one step ahead there.
Bollockoff has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bollockoff loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Bollockoff postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kotov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kotov tries to get out of the position.

Bollockoff throws an elbow that misses. Kotov uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bollockoff's guard. Nice move by Kotov!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bollockoff is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kotov rolls with it to try and escape but Bollockoff cranks on the arm and Kotov is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
