Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clark Channel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Young has hold of Channel's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Channel manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Young is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Channel can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Channel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Young on the ground.

Young had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Channel is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Young Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Channel's back instead.

Channel is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Young drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Young drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Channel dives on top into guard.

Young working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Channel doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Channel manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Young is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
