Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Hick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rooster Vondra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Hick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rooster Vondra!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vondra looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hick!
Hick wants to control but Vondra postures up.
Hick keeps Vondra under control for a moment.
Hick can't do much from the bottom here.

Vondra is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hick is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hick is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Vondra is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Hick sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Vondra goes for a double leg but Hick avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hick continues to drive forward.

Hick bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vondra keeps working.
Hick is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Vondra will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Vondra is refusing to be controlled, as Hick sits in half guard.
Hick misses with a head shot. Vondra uses the momentum to regain guard.
Hick could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Vondra has a closed guard, preventing Hick from standing up.
Vondra looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hick is one step ahead there.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hick not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hick bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Vondra managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hick.
Hick tries to stand but Vondra is controlling his head.
Vondra regains half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Vondra slips a jab and a cross from Hick.
Despite the aggression on Vondra's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
John Hick is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hick closes the distance and clinches up with Vondra, looking for a takedown. Hick pushes Vondra against the cage but Vondra circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Vondra is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Vondra doesn't manage to clinch there - Hick circles away.
Vondra lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like John Hick has been cut.
Vondra shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hick but Hick pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Vondra lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hick holds on and takes a little breather.

It looked like Hick was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Hick wants to control but Vondra is keeping him busy.

Hick creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Hick is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Vondra has escaped the position, nice work there.
Vondra tries to improve position but can't.
Hick cracks Vondra with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Hick is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vondra can do to turn this around?

Hick shoots in for a double leg but Vondra sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Vondra goes for a takedown attempt but Hick pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Vondra shoots for a double leg takedown but Hick sprawls well. He's pushed Vondra's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hick tries for a takedown but Vondra sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Hick closes the distance and clinches up with Vondra, looking for a takedown. Hick pushes Vondra against the cage but Vondra circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Vondra misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Vondra tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hick swivels and escapes.
Hick jabs Vondra to the body, keeping him at a distance.
