The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartwright moves away from the strike by Donnelly.
Donnelly jabs Cartwright to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Cartwright rushes Donnelly and presses him up against the cage.
Cartwright goes for a takedown in the clinch but Donnelly prevents it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Cartwright as Donnelly tries to tie him up.
Cartwright is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Donnelly to keep the fight standing.
Donnelly tries a body shot but Cartwright blocks it.

Cartwright has picked Donnelly up - he's going for a ride! Cartwright dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Cartwright is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Donnelly reverses the position - he's now on top in Cartwright's guard.

Donnelly has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cartwright is proving hard to escape from.

Cartwright throws his legs up looking for a submission but Donnelly uses it to pass to side control.

Donnelly connects with the punch.
Donnelly scores with a hook to the body. Cartwright takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Donnelly keeps the fight on the outside.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cartwright throws a body punch but Donnelly moves out of range.
Cartwright fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Cartwright throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Donnelly's waist but Donnelly gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cartwright off to one side.

Donnelly was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Cartwright moves forwards but Donnelly connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Ceoghan Cartwright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Donnelly looks to land a left hand but Cartwright moved out of range nicely.

Donnelly lands a big right hand that sends Cartwright crashing to the mat! Donnelly stays standing though and waves Cartwright back to his feet!

Cartwright takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Cartwright is still on wobbly legs! Can Donnelly finish him?
Cartwright closes this distance looking for a takedown but Donnelly circles away.
Donnelly sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Cartwright's defenses. It connects perfectly with Cartwright's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
