PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Olson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sean Robinson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Olson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Robinson!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robinson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Olson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Robinson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Robinson closes the distance and clinches.

Robinson breaks the clinch.
Olson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Olson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Robinson misses with a two punch combination.
Robinson connects with a looping right hand.


It looks like Andrew Olson has been cut.
Olson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Olson gets a clinch.

Robinson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Olson misses with a jab, cross combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Olson misses with a two punch combination.
Robinson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Olson moves away.
Robinson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Robinson takes the fight into the clinch.
Robinson misses with a hook from the clinch.

Robinson tries to pull guard but Olson forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Olson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Robinson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Robinson!

Robinson drives through and clinches with Olson against the cage.
Olson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Robinson pulls guard.
Robinson keeping full guard, as Olson tries to pass.
Olson throwing strikes from guard but Robinson blocks nicely.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Olson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Olson trying to control the position from guard on top but Robinson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Olson with a flurry of punches that miss.
Robinson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Olson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Robinson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Olson is working hard here to advance position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Robinson misses with a wild combination.
Robinson tries to clinch up.
Robinson misses with a double jab.
The fighters circle momentarily. Olson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Robinson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Robinson breaks the clinch.

Robinson moves into the clinch.
Robinson misses with a punch on the inside.
Robinson tries to pull guard but Olson forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Robinson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Olson has had enough of the clinch but Robinson keeps him there for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Robinson breaks from the clinch.
Olson misses with the combination.
Robinson walks into a stiff left hand from Olson.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Robinson dives in for a single leg takedown but Olson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Andrew Olson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sean Robinson.
Olson swats away the attempt to clinch by Robinson.
Olson looks to land a combination but Robinson avoids it well.
Robinson throws a body shot but no joy.
Robinson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Olson's head.
Olson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Robinson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Robinson, as that shot connected.
Robinson thuds his right hand into Olson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.


Olson is rocked!

Robinson clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sean Robinson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Andrew Olson's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Robinson tries to clinch but Olson is having none of it.
Olson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Robinson.
Sean Robinson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Robinson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Robinson lands with a right hand.
Oh Olson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Robinson pounces like a tiger and cracks Olson with a vicious hook! Olson is down but not out! Robinson follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Sean Robinson!
After winning the bout, Sean Robinson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
