Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Marx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Jenkins Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ricky Marx!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Jenkins Jr!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins Jr ducks under a wild hook from Marx.

Marx feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Marx thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Marx wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jenkins Jr keeps working.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Marx tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jenkins Jr sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marx somewhat.

It seemed like Jenkins Jr was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Marx bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Marx lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Marx loads up on a big right hand but Jenkins Jr slips the punch.

Marx looks to throw the jab but Jenkins Jr is out of range.
Jenkins Jr is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Marx with a body shot.
Marx throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fighters circle momentarily. Jenkins Jr darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jenkins Jr bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Marx's head.

Jenkins Jr fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Marx sprawls well initially but Jenkins Jr persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's time! Marx's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Jenkins Jr throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Marx was covering up waiting for the punch and Jenkins Jr finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jenkins Jr has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Marx can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Marx drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jenkins Jr looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jenkins Jr looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jenkins Jr!

Jenkins Jr works to advance to full mount. Marx defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Jenkins Jr takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Jenkins Jr is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Marx has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Marx!

Jenkins Jr has his foot on Marx's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Marx works his way back into a safe position though.
Marx makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Marx accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

My spies in Miletich Xtreme Fighting Systems inform me that Jenkins Jr has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Well Jenkins Jr has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
