The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wanaka drives through with a takedown into Leon's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wanaka accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Wanaka has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Leon is proving hard to escape from.
Wanaka drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wanaka jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Leon shoots in for a takedown but Wanaka shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Leon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
