Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Noel Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Noel Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Silva!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Diaz to the ground. Silva is now in Diaz's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diaz wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment.
Diaz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Silva controls the pace.
Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Diaz is retaining full guard.
Diaz throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Diaz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Diaz scores with a sloppy right hand. Silva should have avoided that one.
Silva on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Diaz clobbers Silva with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Diaz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Silva has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Diaz finds it's way round the side to connect with Silva's head.

Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Diaz lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Silva fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Diaz, pushing him back against the cage.

Silva pulls Diaz into guard.
Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Silva wants to sweep here but Diaz controlling him for the moment.
Silva is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Diaz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Diaz slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Silva tries to improve position but can't.

Silva tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Diaz presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Diaz cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Noel Diaz will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Silva takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Silva moves into the clinch successfully.
Diaz lands an uppercut.
Diaz tries a body shot but Silva blocks it.
Diaz throws a head punch that misses.

Silva works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Silva gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Silva moves away from the strike by Diaz.
Diaz slaps away a takedown attempt from Silva, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Diaz looks to land a right hand but Silva moved out of range.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Diaz, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Diaz against the cage but Diaz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Noel Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thiago Silva.
Diaz lands a head shot.
Thiago Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Silva shoots in and drives through. Diaz sprawls well.
Diaz is looking to counter punch.
Silva is breathing heavily.

Silva wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Diaz pushes Silva back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Silva misses with some punches.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Silva takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Silva effectively controlling the action here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Diaz tries to throw a body punch but Silva avoids it by throwing Diaz back against the cage.

Silva tries to stall but Diaz uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Silva turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Silva decides to stand back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Diaz lands a hook to the side of the head.
Silva is looking to take this one to the mat.
Silva jumps guard but Diaz stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Diaz lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Silva backwards.

Diaz dips a shoulder and cracks Silva with a mighty uppercut! Silva falls back against the cage and Diaz unloads with a barrage of strikes! Silva is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Diaz screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
