The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmitt takes the fight into the clinch.
Fugite keeps control of Schmitt as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Fugite tries to pull guard but Schmitt won't allow it.
Schmitt breaks the clinch.
Fugite tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schmitt paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Schmitt pushes Fugite up against the cage in a clinch.
Schmitt breaks from the clinch.
Schmitt throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Schmitt closes the distance and clinches.
Schmitt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Schmitt misses with a few strikes there.
A countering left hand to the body from Fugite misses.
Fugite gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Schmitt to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Schmitt stands up from Fugite's guard - Schmitt perhaps looking for a knockout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Schmitt shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Schmitt showed some decent athleticism there.
