The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kade shoots and misses
and Echsner counters with a left and a right that stings Kade.
Kade tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Echsner wants to land a leg kick but Kade is out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

And Kade tries to counter it with a takedown but Echsner pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Echsner tries to bum rush Kade with a series of wild strikes but Kade uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And Kade tries to counter it with a takedown but Echsner pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Kade moves out of range as Echsner strikes.

and Echsner counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Jacob Echsner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Echsner digs a good body shot into Kade's ribs.
Kade needs to keep his hands up - Echsner had a free shot at his head there.
Echsner throws out a loose jab but Kade uses good head movement to avoid it.

Echsner lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Kade closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Echsner did well to prevent Kade getting side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kade working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Echsner turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Kade off and cradles Echsner's limp body as Kade celebrates with his corner.
